Weekend Layouts (better late than never)

Hi Everyone!  Hope you all had a great weekend.  Mine was busy and I got very little scrapping done.  Both layouts centered around bowling with Daddy on Father's Day.

Dan and Carter - layout using mostly the Oliver line from Basic Grey.

Dan and Tyler - This layout was done using the September 2009 Scrapbook Sussies kit.  A year later and I just got around to using it!

Hope you liked them. Leave a comment and let me know what you think!

Happy 31st Birthday, Melanie!

Today is my SIL's b-day!  She's awesome and I love her to pieces.  So, let's celebrate her special day with a few layouts featuring the lady of the day.

The first layout features Mel and her nephew Tyler.  He loves her so much.  It's obvious by the way he is strangling her just to give her a kiss!  Mel is an awesome auntie and has helped us out with the kids in a pinch, we can always depend on her.  Also, in the layout is her son, my nephew, Jason.  More on that bundle of cuteness in the next layout!

The 2nd layout is from Easter 2010 and show Mel and her hubby, Mark and son, Jason together.  They are such a cute family and totally in love with that little man!  Can you blame them???

So Mel, hope you have a wonderful day and get everything you could ever dream of!  I love ya and am so happy you are in our lives!

Weekend Layouts

I went scrapping with a friend this weekend and got 2 pages finished.  For some reason, I can't get beat this "2 page curse".  I guess I'm not so great at multitasking (scrapping and chatting).  Anyways, I think all in all the layouts I finished were so-so.  Not my best work, but I have a hard time being creative when I am limited to the supplies I have brought with me to the crop.

The first layout is about T's excitement the night before we took him to Disney.  He kept asking if we were going to see Mickey tomorrow.  Over and over again.  I used product exclusively from the Scrapbook Sussies May 2010 kit.  Most of the paper and embellishments are from Pebbles, Inc. Tree House line.  The branch and tree houses were all hand cut by me from a patterned paper included in the kit.  If you are interested in this kit, I believe they still have some available.

This layout continues my Disney theme.  We absolutely love EPCOT.  We go there every time we go to Disney.  We love to walk around to the different countries and sample all their native foods and especially, beverages!  I have always liked the architecture of the Chinese buildings and the colors are so vibrant!  We ended getting absolutely poured on while we were in China, but luckily I got some pics before the monsoon started.  This layout is done with a hodge-podge of stuff from different manufacturers.  All the flowers were originally white.  I sprayed them with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist to have them match the layout.

Well, that was all I accomplished at the crop, but at home I snuck in one more layout.  We went bowling last Father's Day and I took some fun pictures of us all bowling (but of course their are none of me, because I am always the one behind the camera).  I loved the pics but had a hard time getting them into a layout.  There were so many pics and so many colors in them.  I have a hard time scrapping more than 3 photos at a time.  Well, anyways this is what I came up with.  It is a 2 page spread, meaning the pages go side by side into 1 long layout, but I can't figure out how to scan it, so you'll see it here as 2 different photos.

The bowling pins are clip art from the Internet which I printed, cut and decorated.  I think it turned out pretty good.  It's kind of an old fashioned scrapbook style, but sometimes a basic design is just what you need.

Hope you have a happy Monday!

Happy Anniversary to a Wonderful Couple!!!

Today is my MIL and FIL's anniversary!  Yeah for them for staying in love with each other for 39 years!!!  Here's a layout that shows the crazy couple together at around the 25 year mark.  I actually did this layout a year ago. These two were definitely a cute couple way back then (even before I met their son).

And here's a layout of these two kids from just this past June.  Personally, I think they get better with age!  The journaling on this layout reads "Mom and Dad, thank you for being such a wonderful example of what true love is"

Here's to their love and wishing them a wonderful day together and hopefully many, MANY more years!

We love you Mom and Dad (Nana & Poppa)!!!
Love, Allie, Dan, Tyler, Carter & Bocce

It's Finally Friday!

Yes, the workweek has finally come to an end and now we rest and recover over the next few days.  What better way to celebrate?  Why, a few random scrapbook layouts, of course!

Each year in February, a neighboring town hold their "Our Town Festival".  This was our first year to go.  Tyler loves rides so we knew he would get a kick out of it.  This layout was made using the Bo Bunny "Block Party" line.  I love the view from the ferris wheel, the small circle picture was Tyler's expression as he rode on it with me.  You probably can't tell but Dan and Carter are down on the ground waiting for us.

Carter was too small for most of the rides, but he was BIG enough to ride his first pony!  This layout was made with one of my favorite Cosmo Cricket line, "Early Bird".  That darn kid is so cute!

Tyler saw Carter go for a pony ride and promptly decided he should go on one too.  This layout was made with a paper line from several years ago (I can't even remember the manufacturer, possibly Bo Bunny).  It feels so go to use up my old stuff!

Hope you enjoyed my layouts.  I am going scrappin' with a new convert the weekend.  I got her hooked on the hobby, but I must admit she was pretty easy!  Hopefully, I'll have some new layouts to share with you at then end of the weekend!

Happy 60th Birthday Mrs. C!!!!

Happy Birthday to one of greatest people I have been lucky enough to know almost my entire life.  I am so blessed to have you in my life.  Here are just a few of the reasons I love you.

1) You are wonderful to sit and talk with.  We can chat nonstop.

2) You can really cook up a storm!

3) You love your grandboys unconditionally.

AND FINALLY...
4) You love and care for my father (even when he is grumpy old coot!)

Have a nice cold one. Enjoy yourself on your special day!

We love you very much Mrs. C and wish you a very happy 60th Birthday!

Scrapbook Daisies September Kit

I received the scrapbook Daisies kit last week and fell in love.  Check out the complete kit right here. Look at kit #3 (each month you can choose between 3 different kits).  It was chock full of the "Life is Good" line from Echo Park.  It also includes flowers from Prima (which I colored using Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist).  Here are 2 of the 3 I have completed so far.  The third one will be posted later this week.

The 1st layout is a picture from my nephew, Jason's baptism.  Isn't he the cutest?  Believe me, he is the little prince of the family!

Next is a layout of my SIL, Adie and me.  She is such a great person.  I can always depend on her and she loves my boys like they were her own.  She's going to make an awesome mom one day.  Actually, she just added a puppy!

The kit included a few paper doilies.  I sprayed mine green with Glimmer Mist and layer some flowers, stickers and  crystals on top.  What a good idea to use those for scrapbooking.  I may have to go out and buy some more.

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Grandparents Day!

My boys have some pretty special grandparents!  They have Nana and Poppa and Gramma and Papaw.   The 4 of them love these 2 munchkins more than one would believe possible and for that I am so thankful.  Enjoy some layout celebrating them all!

The layout is of Tyler and his Papaw, my Dad:

This layout is of Carter and his Gramma:

This one is of Tyler and his Nana, Dan's mother.

And last but certainly not least, a layout of Tyler and his Poppa, Dan's father.
This post made me not only reflect on how lucky my boys are to have their grandparents in their lives, but also that I really need to take more photos of the boys with their grandparent!

HAPPY GRANDPARENTS DAY TO ALL THOSE NANAS, POPPAS, GRAMMAS AND PAPAWS OUT THERE!!!!

Still Scrappin' with the August Sussies Kit

This kit never runs out!  I like to load up in the goodies when I scrap so I am surprised this kit has lasted so long.  I think I am at 5 layouts already.  The two below are from some fun summertime events.  Enjoy!

This first one is from our Memorial Day picnic in the park.  Let is be know that even though there are absolutely no pictures of me, I WAS THERE!

Memorial Day Party at the Park (5/10) made using Scrapbook Sussies 8/10 kit

The next page is from a long weekend in NYC for my nephew Jason's Baptism. My SIL, Melanie's parent, Liz and Mike were kind enough to open their home to 5 of us for 4 days. Well, 6 or us counting Baby Jason, the little man of honor! Liz and Mike have an ABOVE ground pool in their backyard. I can't even tell yo the last time I saw one of those. But, we all made good use of it. Well, not me, I didn't go in...I'm not a pool kind of gal!

I received the September Sussies kit a few days ago, so I should be sharing some scrappy layouts soon.  Check back often!!!

Homegrown

I did some serious scrapping over the weekend but haven't scanned anything yet so I can't post them for y'all to see. So, I decided to just post a some pages I previously scrapped.

In the spring we went to a local farmer's market. I wouldn't usually think of this as a picture taking opportunity but remembered that I had some "Garden Variety" line by Cosmo Cricket which features the cutest little pea pod patterned paper! So the camera came with us and I took some shots of T in front of the brightly colored fruits and veggies. Mr. C was pouting so he didn't get to make it into this layout! When it came time to scrap this outing, I cut up the pea pods and stung the, to another piece of paper from the Garden Variety line towards the bottom of the page. I thought the "HOMEGROWN" sticker was a cute title for the page since T is in fact, homegrown!

Also, at the Farmer's market they made fresh donuts right in front of you!  i don't have any pictures of the donuts, I was too busy eating to take any pictures.
They also had a steel drum player to add ambiance to the experience.  It was a slow day at the Farmer's Market so the nice man let tie play a little too.  This layout was fund because I set my mind to it that I was going to use some older product from my stash.  Everything on this page is circa 2008.  For some reason when I scrap, I usually grab for the newer purchases, maybe because there closer to me and the other product haven't seen the light of day for a while.  Anyways, I like how this one turned out!

Leave me a comment and let me know what you think!

Weekend Crop

Myself and 6 friends from work got together at Cherry Blossom Studios for a little crop time.  Some of the girls were brand new to scrapbooking, but everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and leave with at least 2 pages completed.  Hopefully we will make it monthly gathering!

I have been into scrapping older pictures lately.  This picture is from 1999, before we lived in Florida.  We took a trip to Disney and I snapped this picture of Dan and our friend Matt in Mexico, EPCOT.  The Max & Whiskers line from Basic Grey had the perfect color combos to go with the Mexican theme.

Next, I did a layout of myself from Fantasy Fest in Key West (2003).  I used the Poppy Seed Collection from K & Company.  I had a body painter paint a fanciful butterfly on my back.  I wanted to get into the spirit of the festivities without going all out like some of the females that attend do!

I know it doesn't seem like a lot for a 7 hour crop, but we did take a break for lunch and just have so much fun chatting and laughing.

Luv Ya (for Eternity)

Just a quick post about about layout I did a few months ago. The composition of this photo and the color is not too great, but for some reason when I saw it, I fell in love with it. Maybe because I am so utterly and completely in love with the subjects of this photo! T & C are the best! I wanted to scrap it but couldn't think of "theme" for the page, and when I can't think of theme, there really is no chance for title (I really struggle with titles, if you look through past postings you'll see my post and layout titles are a little *bland*). So, for this page I started with the product. The Girls Paperie made a big splash onto the scrapbooking scene at the Winter 2010 CHA show. People really went crazy over their 2 debut lines, "On Holiday" and "Paper Girl", I was no exception! Most of the items used on this page came to me courtesy of the June 2010 Scrapbook Circle kit. Check out the September kit offering at http://www.scrapbookcircle.com/. The background paper (green dots) is from October Afternoon. I added a few of my own accents from the "Artsy Urban" collection by Melody Ross for GCD. Anyways, this layout is just me throwing a bunch of papers and embellies together because I liked the product. I slapped a generic title on there and was done...and happy with the results! Hope you like it too!

Scarlet Lime August 2010 Frugal Fab Kit Creations

Scarlet lime is a really cool monthly kit club that just recently started offering smaller kits as prices lower than their normal monthly offerings. Their kits always offer a wide array of products from different manufactures, yet the stuff coordinates so well, in unexpected ways, that you would think the products were all from the same line. If you like the eclectic look of mixed manufactures, yet don't have the creative "eye" to do it yourself, Scarlett Lime kits are a great option! The other great part of this kit is that it is embellishment heavy, they give you TONS of embellies! I love to layer them on a page and if you scrapbook, you know how expensive these little do-dads can be! Of course, the retail value of the kit is much more than the price they charge. The Frugal Fab kit from Scarlet Lime is about $20 + shipping. If you are interested in their kits, check out their website at www.scarletlime.com.

Well, here are 3 pages I did with the August kit. One was posted in a post a few days ago, but here it is just in case ya missed it! I really love how the last page "First Visit with the Easter Bunny" turned out, especially since I was trying to incorporate some pretty girly papers (Olivia line from Basic Grey), but it seems to work out OK for Easter. The "E" and "B" in Easter bunny, were actually the word "be" (from Prima Marketing), but i had been holding on to them for almost a year, unsure how to use them especially since they were pink. But I LOVE how they look as the 1st letters in my title.

Miss My Sis

I was just chatting with my sis via Facebook (she lives in NY, I live in FL) and now I miss her. So in honor of her I am posting a page I did about her visit to Florida this past April. I love it cause it has her and Byron with my 2 favorite little guys. I also love it because I got to use the K&Co. "Poppy Seed" collection. I love the light greens, blues and lavenders, all the cool colors of the rainbow plus this collection has the cutest embellies, silly little birds and accents that look hand-doodled. Scrapbook Sussies featured this paper line in a Spring 2010 kit.

Anyways, she said she checks the blog regularly and would start to leave comments, so we'll test her out with this post!

Luv You, Sissy!!!

Tuesday Night Quicky

Got your attention? I just wanted to post a super quick page I made last night with the new Oliver line from Basic Grey. I did throw in a few embellies from a Love, Elsie line from a few years ago and of course, my all time favorites Rootbeer Float Thickers. Overall, this page took me about 20 minutes to create. Now you have to know, I never start a layout with a plan, I never measure and lots of time I just grab whatever is close by. Sometimes I love the way the pages turn out, but sometimes I am less than impressed! Oh well, I doubt I will care about it 20 years from now, I will just be happy to have the memory documented!

The pictures are of myself and my friend, Martha at Game 3 of the 2003 Wold Series. The NY Yankees won that game against the Florida Marlins, but the Marlins ended up winning the World Series. It was very exciting to be part of the South Florida community at that time.

I think I took these pictures with a disposable camera and then scanned them and blew them up for this layout, so the photo quality is REALLY bad. But hey, it's not about the quality of the photos, it about the quality of the memories, right?
